Why do
I keep getting all the popup advertisements
If you get a lot of popup ads after
connecting to the internet, your computer contains spyware. Spyware
are programs that are put on your computer without your knowledge.
The spyware program will gather information about you and your
surfing habits and then target you with your very own popup ad.
Spyware can also, change the way your computer acts while connected to the
Internet, change your homepage, force you to use certain websites
for searching. The best way to avoid getting Spyware is to avoid
installing free programs that makes your computer do
anything funny, cute or cool, Avoid using free greeting card
web sites. Not only do they get your information, they get your
friends information as well. Read the privacy policies before you
subscribe. If you do get a popup ad, close it immediately, don't
click on any links within the popup. Don't reply to or click on any
link within a advertising email message (SPAM) even a if it says
(Click here to remove your email address from out database).

Note:
Your username is the first part of your email address

My username is: johndoe
Sometimes I get email messages and the body of the message is blank
More than likely the messages are coming
from either an AOL or CompuServe user. They both use a different
email system than the rest of the world. If an AOL or CompuServe
user sends you a direct email, you will see it in the message body.
If they forward you a message, the message will come in as an
attachment. If the message has been forwarded several times, the
original message could be several attachments deep.
If the subject of the message begins with Fw: The message has been
forwarded. Look for a paperclip on the message and open the
attachment. If when you open the attachment and the body of that
message is blank, look for an attachment field above the body of the
message and double click on the attachment icon. You may have to do
that several times until you get to the original message.
Why is my username and password rejected when I try to get my email
On August 28th, UsaconX Instituted email
spam and virus filtering. The new service requires your full email
address in the User Name field of your client.
Example:
When I open Outlook Express to get my email. I am prompted with the
following message

Here I will entered my full email
address in the User Name field and then click OK.
Once I have done this, the setting will be permanently changed and I
start receiving my email. |
